We wanted Backcountry Glamping and Wild Escapes to pioneer how people spend time outdoors in the Missouri Ozarks, so we will be creating optional add-on packages. We will offer children's discovery camps so you can enjoy some time alone in nature, or utilize our wellness package. Have a fur baby? We will have you covered! If you are 18 or older, check out our adventure package and go on an overnight guided wilderness hike on the Ozark Trail. Book our whole-day backcountry shuttle tour if you would rather sit back and relax. Lastly, if you are ready to exchange vows with your partner- we offer a nighttime immersive experience, complete with a speaker if you wish.

Wellness Package
At its core, nature therapy is the idea that people are connected to and are impacted by the natural environment. Our wellness package is designed to give you the opportunity to explore your relationship with nature. It seeks to improve awareness of how our connection with nature (or lack thereof) affects our mental health.
We have designed this package to create an overall sense of well-being by restoring a healthy relationship with nature and goes hand in hand with our tech-free challenge. This package will allow you to explore the fundamentals of nature therapy through early morning and evening ti chi, barefoot grounding, and forest bathing in wood-fired tubs with oils and herbs or Missouri mineral mud from Knob Lick Mountain.

When you are ready to take your vows or make it official, let us be a part of it. We offer you a different experience. Our location boasts a nighttime forest atmosphere adorned with captivating fairy lights, creating the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable Celtic hand-fasting ceremony.

Overnight Hike
Starting at the top of Taum Sauk Mountain, we travel six miles down the Ozark Trail passing through The Devil's Tollgate to a primitive camp spot just off the trail. Here we set up camp for the night. The next morning we continue down the mountain about another six miles ending at Johnson's Shut-Ins State Park. Total trek is about 13 miles and the guide is experienced because it is awkward when we have to eat our friends.

This five-stop day trip starts at 9:00 a.m. when you board a 15-passenger van to explore the beauty of the St. Francois Mountains. We will spend an hour at each exploring each location. These include the three state parks and the Civil War historic site below. Before heading back to camp we stop at the Abbey where you can purchase the best home-baked deserts in three counties. We return to camp around 6:00 p.m.
